O.K. Video Ebert Island 8 Speed 2: Cruise Control

In the original Speed , a bus had to maintain a speed of 50 miles per hour lest it explode. In the sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control , a ship has been hacked to run at the speed of 18 knots, so about 21 miles per hour, two fifths of the speed of the original film, plus it is set in open water, which isn't exactly great at conveying motion. Anyway, Twentieth Century Fox thought they could make some more money and green-lit this sequel and Ryan and Nathan will discuss it and the controversial "thumbs up" it received by the late, great Roger Ebert. O.K. Video Ebert Island 7 The Phantom

Ryan and Nathan set sail for Ebert Island, deep in the Devil's Vortex in search of The Phantom from 1996, a movie Ebert loved as it featured Billy Zane slamming evil in a purple onesie, and whose heart is cold enough not to find something fun about that? Treat Williams plays Xander Drax, a New York flim-flam man in search of three skulls capable of incredible destructive power. Will Kit Walker, aka The Ghost Who Walks, aka The Phantom be able to stop him in time?  If you want to message us, @okvideopodcast on twitter, okvideopodcast on instagram or ryan@okvideo.ca are the ways to do it.  Thanks for listening! -N The Phantom

O.K. Video Ebert Island 6 Land of the Lost

Ryan and Nathan discuss the much maligned big-screen adventure of Doctor Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell) in their look at Land of the Lost . Roger Ebert rose his voice in lonely, but moderate, admiration for this zany, over-the-top comedy co-starring Danny McBride, Anna Friel and Jorma Taccone. Will the O.K. Video duo be able to find the same goofy mental space in order to enjoy this urine-splashing, blood-draining, dinosaur-deucing affair? Find out today! If you want to email us, ryan@okvideo.ca or nathan@okvideo.ca should get it done, or you can tweet @okvideopodcast -N Land of the Lost

O.K. Video Ebert Island 5 John Carpenter's Escape from L.A.

Snake is back! Accept no substitute. Ryan and Nathan look at the under-loved John Carpenter's Escape from L.A. Roger Ebert went to bat for this one back in 1996, declaring it the film Independence Day could have been if it hadn't played it safe. If it had made one fifth of that film's box office take we surely would have gotten a sequel. Darn it humanity. O.K. Video Ebert Island 4 Knowing

Roger Ebert gave Alex Proyas' apocalyptic fable Knowing a perfect 4 out of 4 in 2009. It made his top films list that year and he declared it one of the best science fiction films he had ever seen. Will Nathan and Ryan be able to match Ebert's enthusiasm for this Nicolas Cage helmed doomsday prophecy?  If you want to email the O.K. Video team, ryan@okvideo.ca or nathan@okvideo.ca are the addresses, or tweet @okvideopodcast.  -N Knowing
