O.K. Video Batch 2 Episode 5 The Whole Nine Yards

O.K. Video Batch 2 Episode 5 The Whole Nine Yards It’s time for the flagship of Franchise Pictures, their one certified money-maker, The Whole Nine Yards. This mayonnaise-hating, Elmore-Leonardish bit of crime comedy stars Chandler (Matthew Perry) as Oz, the lovable dentist, who just so happens to live next to Jimmy the Tulip, a notorious hitman played by Bruce Willis. This kickstarts a goofy tale of murder and mayhem in Montreal. Where will it ultimately rank in Ryan and Nathan’s appraisals of Franchise Pictures? Only five more episodes to go before all will be revealed. Thanks for listening and feel free to send queries to ryan@okvideo.ca and nathan@okvideo.ca -N

O.K. Video Batch 2 Episode 4 Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever

O.K. Video Batch 2 Episode 4 Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever The movie that inspired not one but TWO Gameboy Advance games is the subject of this week's episode, that's right, Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever. Starring Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu, this Vancouver Library destroying rampage earned the most legitimate zero percent rating in Rotten Tomatoes history. Ryan and Nathan discuss the infamy of this film and whether it stands out in the catalog of Franchise Pictures, a studio with no shortage of duds on hand.  If you have a question for us shoot it on over to ryan@okvideo.ca and nathan@okvideo.ca -N

O.K. Video Batch 2 Episode 3 The In-Laws

O.K. Video Batch 2 Episode 3 The In-Laws What is the shelf-life of a comedy? Ryan and Nathan investigate the comic pairing of Albert Brooks and Michael Douglas in Franchise Pictures’ reboot of the 1979 film, The In-Laws. Has this movie aged like a fine wine or a bottle of Sunny D left in the hot sun of a Vancouver summer? Will Canadian heart-throb Ryan Reynolds ever break out of thankless supporting roles like this and get to shine? Will Robin Tunney ever get to team up with the Deschanel sisters in a hilarious crime-solving caper? We can hope, but in the meantime these people were all participants in this forgotten farce from yesteryear. If you have any questions or feedback give us a shout at ryan@okvideo.ca and nathan@okvideo.ca. Thanks for listening. We are now listenable on Spotify, Google Podcasts and Stitcher, so rating and reviewing the show would help if you are so inclined. -N

O.K. Video Batch 2 Episode 2 Driven

O.K. Video Batch 2 Episode 2 Driven   2 Video Store Clerks. 1 Movie. 7 Razzie Nominations. 40 Million Dollars Down the Drain.  The Movie is Driven  .The Clerks, Nathan and Ryan. The Razzies results, one win. The 40 Million Dollars were likely an exaggeration.  Welcome to Episode Two of our Franchise Pictures Batch, the movie studio that managed to populate much of the Bottom 100 list on IMDB before closing forever in 2007. This movie re-teams the Cliffhanger duo, Sylvester Stallone and Renny Harlin as they take a look at open-wheel racing, manhood and the answer to the eternal question posed by that GameCube case at the bottom of a dump bin at the Real Canadian Superstore, What Drives You?  If you have any questions or answers regarding our lack of car knowledge, email us at nathan@okvideo.ca or ryan@okvideo.ca (or both).
