O.K. Video

Was there ever really a chance that we'd get more than one Gods of Egypt film? Was there a strategy that would have sold this bizarre take on Egyptian mythology to the masses and bankrolled a new franchise for Summit Entertainment? Nathan and Ryan discuss this possibility while laying out the pros and cons of Alex Proyas' final gift (so far) to big screen buffs. Ah, the subjectivity of human experience. Ryan and Nathan have very different takes on this week's box office failure, The Adventures of Pluto Nash , the movie that destroyed director Ron Underwood's career and put Eddie Murphy's career in a position where he needed a comeback. But in what other movie can you see Randy Quaid dual wield pistols in a gunfight on the moon?  If you'd like to send in a question for a future show, email ryan@okvideo.ca or nathan@okvideo.ca We are also on Hive and Instagram, okvideopodcast.  -N The Adventures of Pluto Nash

O.K. Video kicks off its look at the most questionable investments in box office history with John Carter , a movie set on Mars that decided to conceal that fact from potential audiences for reasons that remain a mystery. How does this one hold up a decade after all dreams of sequels have died? Listen to find out! If you'd like to email us some questions, ryan@okvideo.ca or nathan@okvideo.ca are the addresses. John Cena is back in the last theatrical film released by artisanal film label WWE Films. 12 Rounds is the name and it is a game of death in the city of New Orleans. But somehow, some way, it is kind of a dull affair. Thanks for suffering with us. If you'd like to send in some emails, ryan@okvideo.ca or nathan@okvideo.ca are the addresses. O.K. Video has been selected to be part of a very special, dystopic game show set in a grim future that could be all too real very soon. It's The Condemned , a battle royale movie featuring ten combatants. But only one of them is Steve Austin, so place your bets accordingly.  If you'd like to send us some questions for future shows, email ryan@okvideo.ca or nathan@okvideo.ca We are also on Hive and Instagram, okvideopodcast.  -N The Condemned

Despite many rumours regarding the ability to even see this man, Ryan and Nathan watched John Cena for a full running time of a movie (well, 80ish minutes) in The Marine , an unflinching look at the difficulties veterans face adjusting to life out of combat.  If you'd like to send us some questions, email ryan@okvideo.ca or nathan@okvideo.ca We are also on hive and Instagram, okvideopodcast. -N The Marine

O.K. Video's look at the films of the WWE continues with this trip back to the grungy world of horror in the year 2006. In the wake of SAW , movies got pretty mean, and See No Evil was no exception. But perhaps an imaginative setting and the film debut of Kane will set this one apart.  If you'd like to send in a question for a future show, email ryan@okvideo.ca or nathan@okvideo.ca We are also on Hive and Instagram, okvideopodcast.  -N See No Evil

Ryan and Nathan continue their look at the films financed by the WWE with Walking Tall , a movie so short that it hardly constitutes a full feature. Based on the exploits of the real Sheriff Buford Pusser, this knockaround guy somehow wins the hearts of the people and takes the fight to those dirty casino owners sullying the spirit of small-town America.  If you'd like to send us a question, email ryan@okvideo.ca or nathan@okvideo.ca We are also on hive and instagram, okvideopodcast.  -N Walking Tall

The Rock's first major Jungle movie is here, The Rundown from 2003. Co-starring Seann William Scott, Rosario Dawson and Christopher Walken, this action comedy may not have destroyed the box office but it found a place in our hearts. Thanks for joining us.
